Born: 9 August 1870 E-10
Heritage: Shade, Ialuan, Magoni
Origins: Amarilla Ventrisque Averiance Lancotta was born and raised to serve the Queen. It was her honor. It was her duty. It was her privilege. Born to one of the Queen’s handmaidens, she was raised by eight mothers and a monarch, surrounded by royal and servant children alike. She was a priestess, a maiden, and an example. A warrior, a scholar, and an accredited genius.
When it was her time and she had come of age, she entered the Verdeska Rhoan—the Warrior Trial, a series of combat trials for Alcairon women. To nobody’s surprise, she came out on top. She was inducted into the service of the Queen as a real handmaiden, and she had earned and fought for that honorable position every step of the way.
She did not get there on her own, and she pays honor to those who raised her, teaching her about all walks of life, every day that she leads.
Fun Facts:
- Has won more than ten Verdeska Rhoan challenges by 2047 E-10 (six of which were ceremonial, and only two of which were challenges for her crown and title).
- Beloved by her people, especially by small girls. She speaks at many schools, and to all ages.
- Wears a carefully-curated mask of poise and maturity when in public, but did in fact go through a goofy teenage phase and has a glorious laugh (which only her close friends and advisors ever hear… most of the time).
- Practical, strategic, and collected – until she’s put in a room with her top gear developers and plasma specialists.
- Has a knack for creating tiny, seemingly mundane, but supremely deadly weapons of all sorts.

Aviera Lance likes people. She thinks almost everyone has the capacity to be great in some way, whether its small or hugely impactful. She balances this with her public sense of practicality and sense, and tries to not only ground her people, but to give them hope as well.
Her life did not change when Evansen Stark became Emperor Razienne. In fact, the only way it affected her for several years was by instilling a distinct sense of dread in the center of her being – dread that she will someday face the Empire of Aetheria not as a tentative political ally, but as its foe.
When Razienne becomes intertwined in the lives of her friends and allies, she therefore sees a duty to keep an eye on them. In doing so, she learns what her rule could have been like, in another life. Razienne, who she later learns also possesses another name, becomes like a mirror to her. Sensible, strategic, and a bit manic when handed powerful devices – but also cursed with the burden of knowledge to great for any one person.
To her, Ev becomes a friend and also an important reminder of what she has to lose.
